Artificial nails under 16

In a world full of Kardashians, be your smart self.

Your girl just blew out 12, 13 or 14 candles on her cake or finished the school year
with a super report, or it's her birthday, for example.
Congratulations and we have a few ideas to spoil her:
a bicycle for nature rides, a trip to the spa, her (maybe) first cell phone or even a manicure set!

What we absolutely do not recommend are her first artificial nails.

Although the trend of super long and decorated nails is becoming increasingly popular,
In our salon, we have been trying for years to help our customers, their mothers and aunts, but also the wider public,
to properly inform and educate about the harmfulness of these treatments for the nails of girls under the age of 16.

Nails are the mirror of our health and protect our fingers from injuries.
Many women choose gel nails because of the poor quality of their own nails or simply because they do not have time to care for them themselves. And we fully support that, because that is a lifestyle.
But girls under the age of 16 are not women and do not yet have a fully developed nail plate.

Your girl's nail plates are soft and moist, the nail bed is weak, the skin is delicate and the matrix (nail root)
is still far from adulthood. Your girl's nail plate is not yet fully formed
keratanized and does not yet have the correct ratio for the length that the little customer wants,
which means that the treatment only increases the risk of damage.

Her sensitive nails will not be able to support the extra weight of the artificial nail,
the adhesion will be poor and any polishing during preparation will make the already thin
further thinning nail plate, and any additional length will affect the nail bed.
Her nails just aren't strong enough, and even scratching her head can damage the nail plate
tearing of the nail bed, which can temporarily or even permanently damage the development of the matrix,
resulting in deformed nails for life.

In addition, many children bite their nails or decide after a few days that they want to remove the artificial nails,
causing damage to their growing nail plate. Or they are active with a ball sport, ball against the fingertips.....
In addition, your girl's small nails cannot tolerate the degree of mechanical treatment
necessary to remove the product.
The chance of nail plate detachment in such situations is high, and shifting of the nail plate can also damage the matrix.

Although legally any customer under the age of 16 can request treatment
with permission and the presence of a parent, numbers decrease and more and more parents give permission.
That is why we appeal to mothers, aunts and our customers for good educational foundations
and let their girls grow up for at least another one, two or three years, while we stick to our policy.

Because by applying artificial nails to customers under the age of 16, we become conscious and intentional
the rules of the trade are violated and something is applied to the nails that is not medically justified.

Is a gel polish OK?
This is from 16.

Gel polish is the choice of many women and an option that looks more natural than artificial nails,
and the process is gentler.
This treatment is suitable for all age groups,
but only when the customer's nail plate is ready for treatment with artificial material.

Important to know:

- If you reserve gel polish in your name and then inform your girl of your appointment,
our employees reserve the right to refuse service.

- You can book a gel polish treatment for your girl,
but it is important to discuss her age, wishes and possibilities in advance.

- A photo of the current nails is always welcome.

- Gel polish does NOT lengthen nails.

- A prerequisite for the treatment is a nail length of at least 2 mm above the fingertips.

And finally:

Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate.
